Since my new sofas arrived from DFS, I have been on a mission to get the sitting room finished. When we moved to this house I had plans to decorate the sitting room in soft grey tones to create a calm and relaxing room. You can see my original plans here, but as you can see… it has kind of evolved into some thing a little more personal with rich deep colours.
If you follow me on Instagram, you will know I originally had a faux zebra hide rug from Ikea, but with all the traffic from the kids, it was forever getting scrunched up and I was getting so fed up of putting it straight. So I have been looking for a hard wearing rug that would stay still. I would really love to change the carpet in here too, but thats a long term plan as all the carpets in the house need replacing.
I found this gorgeous Belle rug from My Rug Store, it is 100% wool kilim weave. It is really deep and heavy, and with the texture from the wool it doesn’t move at all. I think it just looks so perfect in the sitting room, especially with my £5 charity shop find coffee table.
My Rug Store have some gorgeous rugs, I knew I instantly wanted a monochrome rug to compliment my cushions. But whilst searching their range, I fell in love with a few other rugs. I thought about having some pink in the rug to match my curtains, if I would have gone with that idea, I would of picked either of these pink rugs. I also loved this monochrome bamboo silk rug as a back up option if my first choice wasn’t in stock.
The My Rug Store website was very easy to navigate and I loved being able to search by style, size, shape or colour. I was kept up to date with expected delivery date and received my rug within a few days of ordering, also point out that their delivery is free unless you want a Saturday delivery. If you are after a new rug, do take a look at their website, Twitter or Facebook to see what else they have to offer. They also have a fantastic summer sale on at the minute with up to 60% off some of their rugs.
