Recently we visited the Warner Brothers Studio Tour. Trying the ButterBeer is a must! I really wasn’t sure what to expect, I didn’t even know if it was a soft drink or contained alcohol. It costs about £3.00 for a cup of ButterBeer or slightly more if you want it in an authentic tumbler. It tastes very sweet, quite similar to a cream soda with a vanilla topping. My daughter has asked me so many times if we can buy some more ButterBeer as she loved it.
So I have tried to recreate it with easily found ingredients, this is the cheats way as I am just using squirty cream for the topping. You could use double cream and add some vanilla essence, but Alana said this version is pretty close to the real thing.
> 1 bottle of cream soda
> Squirty Cream
> Monin Caramel Syrup
> Dark Muscovado Sugar
This is going to make approx 250ml, so multiply the ingredients for how many cups you want to make. These would be awesome for a Harry Potter themed birthday party. Unless your child is as Harry Potter mad as mine and she is quite happy to drink ButterBeer instead of having an icecream.
- Add 1 table spoon of sugar and 1 table spoon of Monin Caramel Syrup to a sauce pan and heat gently so the sugar melts into the syrup
- Add the syrup mixture to a glass and top with ice cold cream soda
- Complete with a squirt of cream and enjoy!
