A trip to the spa is the ultimate indulgence. Nothing can be as relaxing as slipping on that robe and those slippers and enjoying a few treatments. The atmosphere a spa can create just puts your mind at ease. But, heading to a spa each day would be quite an expensive habit. So why not try and create the experience in your own bathroom? This is why I thought I would share with you a few tips to help you do that. Offering you that spa experience without the hefty price tag.
Invest in candles
For any spa experience candles are an absolute must. It would be recommended to invest in some essential oils or burners, or even just scented candles. Choose a scent that is relaxing like lavender. Although, this is your experience so tailor it to your own tastes. Candles can offer you that low lighting that can help relax your mind after a busy day.
Update your vanity area
You may not be able to indulge in someone doing the treatments for you. But there is no reason why you can’t give yourself a mini facial or take care of yourself. So it might be worth updating your vanity area with a decent mirror and options for you to place the products you are using. Consider companies like Unique Vanities for more information on your options.
Consider a dimmer switch for mood lighting
If you don’t like candles, or just want to create a different lighting atmosphere, then a dimmer switch could be the answer. These are very easy to fit, although it would be best to get someone with experience if you are unsure on what to do. However, once installed they can offer you the flexibility of more light when needed, or low lighting when relaxing. A brighter light could come in handy when you are pampering or perhaps giving yourself a treatment. But you will be thankful for the lower lighting when you step into your bath for a relaxing soak.
Download apps for relaxing music and meditation
One of the great ways a spa sets a relaxing atmosphere, is through their use of music and relaxing tones. There are some amazing apps you can download that can offer you music very similar. You could even use it as an opportunity to do some guided meditation. Listening to something which enables you to relax your mind as well as your body will give you the ultimate at home spa experience.
Consider a relaxing color scheme
Finally, when it comes to the decoration of your bathroom try and steer clear from bright colors. In a spa you tend to find more neutral tones, so try and stick with that with your own bathroom. If you like a little bit of color then a great option would be to consider a pastel shade of your favorite color. This gives you the best of both worlds. Or you could choose something extravagant. Choosing luxurious colors like golds and silvers to give your bathroom a little bit opulence. The choice is yours.
I hope these tips help you create your own at home spa experience.
