I just can’t believe its September already. It doesn’t feel like it was that long ago we were loading the lorry ready to relocate to Somerset from Dorset, but its been 16 months already! My list of jobs to do around the house is still growing, and currently I am finishing the hallway (painting with the kids home just doesn’t work!). I am not sure this house will ever be finished, but I am really enjoying putting my mark on it.
Each month I want to share with you my wish list, things I want to achieve, buy or do. I hope it will keep me more organised and motivated to reach the bottom of the list each month.
My main priority when they kids go back to school is to finish the hallway. Apart from finding a curtain to cover the front door, I have everything, I just need to finish painting, wallpapering, put the artwork up and finish my bureau makeover.
I also want to rejoin Slimming world, I successfully lost 2.5 stone in 2010 for our wedding, but then after the birth of Dominik and my current range of medication I am struggling to maintain a health weight. So hoping by returning to the weekly meetings, my competitiveness will encourage me to want to achieve the title of “slimmer of the week” each weigh in. I will be documenting it on a new Instagram feed.
I still don’t know how I want to decorate the bedroom, but I know I need to make some better storage for my jewellery. I have a growing collection of handmade necklaces from Africa that I want to put out on display, so if you have any ideas, leave a comment below. I also want to take my Pandora bracelet into town to get it cleaned and I also need to take my engagement ring to the jewellers and have it correctly fitted as I’ve not worn it for over a year.
This month Alana turns 11, and it’s also her last year at primary school, where did my baby girl go? Were planning on taking her to Crealy Adventure Park, to do our last camping trip of the year, and spend some time in the theme park (she is a little adrenaline junkie after all). Not sure what I am going to buy her yet, perhaps some art supplies as she is really getting into sketching. Perhaps a shopping spree in Hobbycraft would be fun.
Looks like September is going to be a busy month, but as much as I will miss the kids, I am going to be glad to get back to a working routine. The school uniforms are all hung up ready for Monday, but first we are heading off to ValleyFest to have our last bit of summer fun. Let me know your plans for September.
